When the Cleveland Division of Water opens their new 24,000 ft. facility this September employees and visitors will feel a positive new energy. The architectural design of the state-of-the-art Technology and Security Center (TASC) utilizes “green energy”. The design incorporates tinted windows, multiple skylights exposing as much natural light as possible, and recycled parts in the construction and even the furniture. Plus, they are energizing the local art economy by incorporating only Cleveland area artists in their impressive overall design concept.

Cleveland Commissioner of Water, Chris Nielson, requested water and IT themes for the new dispatch and command center. “It only made sense to incorporate art from Cleveland since this is a Cleveland company”, states Nielson. Initial pieces include original acrylics by Jack Coville, and professional photography by Roy Jenkins, Mark Quinn, and Chris Rembold.
The Cleveland Division of Water plans to add additional
area artwork to enhance the new facility. Jose′ Hernandez,
Project Manager, states there are also plans to create a
virtual gallery in the common area to highlight even more
local art. A 52” plasma TV will be on a constant loop
displaying more works that Cleveland has to offer. Marcia
Goersmeyer, Administrative Assistant of the IT
Department, tells us that the center will host numerous city
planners and visitors from other cities and states to get
inspiration from this model facility. |
